They say when opportunity knocks, you should respond and that’s what Pepe and Audrey Serrano did when they were given the opportunity to move their restaurant from Woodland Park to the former Iron Tree restaurant in Florissant. Serranos Mexican Restaurant has served customers in Woodland Park f rom 2012 to 2025. And many patrons have followed them to Florissant. They report that business has been brisk since they opened for business on Jan. 1 at the new location. The Serranos live in Florissant and having the business there is more convenient to them as well as they are closer to their children. Pepe, a Mexican American, came from Toluca, Mexico and lived in Woodland Park for 12 years. He met Audrey, a native of Colorado who grew up in Woodland Park. They were married in 2010. The Serranos have four children ages three to 11. Pepe brings his experience and knowledge of traditional Mexican cuisine and family recipes to the business. “We strive to present people with good food and a pleasant, friendly atmosphere,” said Audrey Serrano. “We have a community within the restaurant and we really like that.” “We are very thankful to be in the old Iron Tree location,” said Pepe Serrano. “We appreciate the support from Teller County, and we are glad we are able to offer the same food at a different location and sill in the county.” Serranos is open Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the address is 37 Costello Ave., Florissant in the former Iron Tree Restaurant location just off Hwy 24. Their phone number is 719-687-7150. “Come for the good food and leave as family,” said Audrey Serrano. ...read more read less
