The money went to Fight for Kentucky, a
group backing Morris as he runs for the seat being vacated by longtime Senator Mitch McConnell.
The contribution has drawn renewed attention to the role of wealthy donors in federal elections. Campaign finance rules allow unlimited donations to super PACs, as long as the groups operate independently from candidates.
