A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a flatbed big rig in an intersection on the west end of Escondido, police said. The crash happened about 10:40 a.m. at Meyers Avenue and Barham Drive, Escondido police said. The spot is a few blocks west of the busy intersection of Nordahl and West Missi on roads near state Route 78. The rider died at the scene. Police and the Medical Examiner’s Office were working to identify him and notify his family. The intersection where the crash occurred was closed for several hours, police said.
