LEXINGTON, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Lexington police are continuing to investigate a fatal shooting that happened in February 2023. Officers were called to the 500 block of Toner Street just before 7 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired. When police arrived, they found a man inside a vehic le suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 24-year-old Marquis Tompkins of Lexington. Anyone with information related to this case is asked to contact Lexington police or submit an anonymous tip through Bluegrass Crime Stoppers.
