Gordon Tall, 84, of Baldwinsville, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at Upstate Community Hospital. He was born on July 20, 1941, to Marian Simmons Tall and Donald Tall. Gordon grew up in Martville, N.Y., where he enjoyed life on the family farm and was an avid member of th e Boy Scouts of America. He was a talented baseball player and student, graduating from Hannibal High School in 1959. He went on to SUNY Oswego, where he studied education, specializing in chemistry and physics. He continued his baseball career there and met his future wife, Mary. He earned his Bachelor of Science in education in 1963. Gordon spent his 35-year teaching career at Weedsport High School, where he shaped many young lives in STEM. He coached wrestling, cross-country and golf over the course of his career and also worked as a wrestling referee for many years. Gordon loved to golf with his buddies on Sunday mornings and continued playing ball, pitching in a local softball league. He was a devoted Syracuse Orange fan and a proud member of the Buffalo Bills Mafia. Gordon is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Johnstone Tall of Baldwinsville; three children, Gregory (Renee) Tall of Ann Arbor, MI, Christine (Shafiq) Jalal of Clarence Center, N.Y., and Allison (Thuan) Loi of Skaneateles; his brother, Raymond (Kathleen) Tall of Roy, UT; and eight grandchildren: Braden and Ashley Tall; Arden, Brynn and Channer Jalal; and Campbell, Carter and Brody Loi. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Falardeau Funeral Home in Baldwinsville. Funeral and burial services will be private.
