Girls treated like ‘objects’ at Los Gatos ‘Party Mom’s’ mansion, witness testifies
Jan 20, 2026
SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) -- A girl who attended Shannon O'Connor's parties inside a Los Gatos mansion described the social environment as "misogynistic." At the secret parties, many guests were 14-year-old Los Gatos High School freshmen, and the only adult present was O'Connor, the girl, identified a
s Jane Doe 6, testified Tuesday.
O'Connor, also known as the "Los Gatos Party Mom," is standing trial and charged with 63 counts for alleged crimes stemming from the 2020-2021 school year. It was the same year that the COVID pandemic closed schools, teens were distance learning online, and O'Connor's son was on the LGHS football team.
Boys treated girls "like sex objects" at the mother's boozy parties, Jane Doe 6 testified. "I was assaulted, and my friends were assaulted multiple times," she told the jury.

Jane Doe 6 and other alleged victims said O'Connor pressured underage teens to sneak out of their homes at night while their parents were sleeping, drink heavily at O'Connor's mansion, and "hookup."
Deputy District Attorney Joanna Lee described the parties as "chaotic, alcohol-soaked benders. For many freshman at Los Gatos High in 2020, their first experience with alcohol ended in overconsumption, vomiting, and blackouts. (O'Connor's) house was a place for children to engage in sexual conduct. The defendant groomed the children ... normalized sex, encouraged hookups and sexual behavior."
O'Connor has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Jane Doe 6 said her best friend, a 14-year-old girl identified as Jane Doe 4, descended into a state of depression and alcoholism because she was sexually and physically abused by boys at O'Connor's house.
Lee asked about interactions Jane Doe 6 witnessed between a boy, identified as John Doe 7, and Jane Doe 4 at parties. "He would touch her in front of everybody. It was bad, it was weird," Jane Doe 6 testified. A sexualized social environment was "normalized" by O'Connor, she testified.
When John Doe 7 drank alcohol, he would become violent toward girls, and "no one reacted to it," the witness testified.
Lee wrote in court documents, "On one occasion, Jane Doe 4 was sitting in (O'Connor's) kitchen in her swimsuit when John Doe 7 began to punch Jane Doe 4 on her leg. (O'Connor) was drinking a glass of champagne and laughed as she watched. John Doe 7 stood over her and continued to kick her legs and stomach all while (O'Connor) was sitting in the kitchen."
The prosecutor asked Jane Doe 6, "Was Jane Doe 4 depressed?"
The witness answered, "Yes, very. It got worse. She was totally alcohol dependent, and she wasn't before. She had to take shots of alcohol before she could leave her house."
The prosecutor asked, "To go where?"
The witness answered, "Anywhere."
Jane Doe 6 said when she expressed her concerns to O'Connor, the mother blew off the issue and said, "She wanted her son to have fun."
Los Gatos ‘Party Mom’ controlled who was in popular crowd, witness testifies
Prosecutors said O'Connor used her son and reputation as "the cool mom" to gain access to freshmen and communicate daily over Snapchat without their parents' knowledge. According to prosecutors, O'Connor's motive was more deviant than making sure the boys had fun. The "Party Mom" was motivated "for the purpose of her own sexual arousal or gratification," Lee wrote in court documents.
Lee continued, "Shannon O'Connor gained the reputation that would eventually give her the nickname of the Los Gatos Party Mom. This reputation gave the defendant access to minor children that she used for her own gratification. For months, defendant supplied excessive amounts of alcohol to a core group of Los Gatos High School students. Defendant exerted control over these children. She instructed children to lie to their parents, school officials, and police about her actions. She advised children to keep drinking, even when they were already heavily inebriated. She directed sexual encounters between newly teenaged adolescents, often after prolonged periods of encouragement, manipulation, and insistence, and often over the objections, concerns, and discomfort of the children involved."
Teen says she couldn’t escape from Los Gatos ‘Party Mom’
John Doe 2 testified that O'Connor "hosted children at her home four to five times a week."
Investigators and witnesses said O'Connor's husband was kept in the dark about what happened inside his own house, because the teens were instructed to wait until he left before parties began.
Jane Doe 4's mother also took the stand to testify Tuesday. Her daughter went over to O'Connor's house for the first time, in the fall of 2020, because she was working on a school science project with O'Connor's son.
"It all seemed normal in the beginning. She was an innocent kid. She'd never dated," the mother said. Recalling when she dropped Jane Doe 4 off at O'Connor's home, the mother testified, "It was a very fancy, beautiful home. (The son) seemed like a nice kid."

The mother said her daughter's personality and behavior changed after the teen hung out at O'Connor's house several times. Jane Doe 4 changed from being a happy and athletic girl to being "really tired" and "closed off."
The mother also saw bruises on her daughter's body. "I had an instinct something was horribly wrong. I just, as a mom, didn't know what it was," the mother said.
When she asked her daughter questions, Jane Doe 4 would say, "I'm fine. Nothing is wrong," the mother testified.
One night, the mother told Jane Doe 4 that she knew something terrible must be happening, and "no matter what it is, I will help you." Her daughter's breath smelled like alcohol, she testified.
The mother said her daughter felt "a lot of shame," and "she was trying to escape."
Another Los Gatos mother who testified earlier in the trial said she was friends with O’Connor and thought she was a responsible mom. She told the jury, "I 100 percent trusted her. As a mom I have guilt for not seeing signs sooner."
The lengthy trial is scheduled to continue into March. Prosecutors’ trial witness list includes 12 girls identified as "Jane Does,” and eight boys identified as "John Does,” parents, and investigators.
