LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) — Two people are dead after two separate crashes Tuesday afternoon, said two news releases from Indiana State Police. Police say a 2005 Dodge Ram was traveling southbound just after 3:15 p.m. on Interstate 65 right by State Road 25 and South Street when the truck left the road, entered the median, struck a guardrail, and then rolled over. State police say the reason for the truck crashing is unknown. The driver of the Dodge Ram died at the scene. Shortly after the crash, at 3:45 p.m., police responded to a three-car crash almost in the exact same area. Police say a semi truck failed to slow for the backed-up traffic from the previous crash, striking two other semis. The driver of the semi that failed to slow died at the scene. The drivers of the two semi trucks that were hit were unharmed. The coroner was working to identify the drivers. ...read more read less
