Trenton’s all-volunteer Signal 22 Fire Police Canteen will be the special guest at the North Ward Citizens Police Advisory Council meeting on this Wednesday night January 21st, from 5:30 to 7 PM at Galilee Baptist Church at 440 Martin Luther King Boulevard in Trenton. Leaders from Signal 22 will speak about their work alongside the Trenton Fire and Police Departments and Emergency Response services from other municipalities within a 70-mile radius. North Ward City Councilwoman Jennifer Williams said, “Signal 22 has been backing up Trenton’s firefighters and police officers since 1941 at major incidences in the capital city and in other municipalities for decades. This great service organization is well known in Trenton from many community events such as the Christmas Parade, held last month. I am looking forward to gaining a more in-depth understanding of their great work on Wednesday night.” Signal 22 President Peg Beyrouty said, “Our motto is Serving our Heroes since 1941! What really started as a 24/7 365-day canteen for Trenton fire and police has evolved into so much more with all the things we do in the community as well. None of which would be possible, without our dedicated volunteers year after year and this October will mark our eighty-fifth-year anniversary as an organization.” Since September 2023, North Ward CPAC Meetings have been generally held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month and are an opportunity for continuing and open dialogue between the community and the Trenton Police Department and its Community Affairs group. North Ward CPAC Meeting Guides are Councilwoman Jennifer Williams and Pastor John H. Harris. Included at the CPAC meetings are conversations from the Trenton Police Department, Trenton Fire Department, and the Trenton Street Teams, as well as contributions from various City of Trenton Departments (such as Public Works) and those attending the meeting themselves. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to get to know their fellow Trentonians from across the North Ward and our city.
