The process includes draining, cleaning and refilling the canal and is expected to take approximately three and a half weeks, weather permitting. Parks staff are using small tractors, fire hoses and specialized equipment to remove accumulated silt and debris from the canal. Employees from the H. B. Parsons Fish Hatchery are on site to safely relocate any live fish to the Oklahoma River during the cleaning process. The Bricktown Canal was last cleaned in January 2020.
