Jan 20, 2026 morning forecast with Tara Hastings INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A cold start with temperatures into the single digits this morning. We’ll see warmer conditions for your Wednesday but that will be short-lived. Arctic air moves back in for the end of the week and into the weekend. It wi ll likely be much colder this weekend compared to the cold air we have in place right now. TODAY: It is going to be a bright day today but cold for much of the afternoon. The winds will not be as bad out of the southwest in between about 5 and 10 mph. Temperatures today will be running about 10 degrees below normal for this time of year. Highs will climb right around 25 under some sunshine. TONIGHT: Clouds begin to increase throughout the overnight hours. The winds begin to pick up a little bit and make us around 20 mph. Temperatures will only fall a couple degrees and stay pretty steady throughout the overnight hours. TOMORROW: We’ll look for lots of clouds heading into your Wednesday. A few spotty snow showers and flurries could be possible on Wednesday. It is going to be warmer and high temperatures will climb close to 40. 7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: A few clouds heading into your Thursday but temperatures begin to drop. We’ll look for high temperatures right around freezing on Thursday with dry conditions.  An arctic air mass moves in for the end of the week and the weekend. From Friday through Sunday we will see temperatures for highs only in the teens. Low temperatures will be into the single digits and likely even closer to zero. The coldest day will be Saturday which some locations around Indiana may struggle to reach double digits for high temperatures.  We are keeping a close eye on a storm system that will move across parts of the central United States. Depending on the track of this system we could see some snowfall across parts of Indiana. If the track moves farther northward that would give us a better chance of some snow. If it continues to stay farther southward that will drop our snow chances. Computer models have been trending a little bit farther southward however there is still a chance it could move north and bring us some snowfall.  ...read more read less
