SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A Sumter man with outstanding warrants was arrested after a chase on Tuesday afternoon, say deputies. While patrolling the area surrounding South Pike East, a Sumter County Sheriff’s Office deputy saw a vehicle with suspended tags and activated their emergency equipment to make a traffic stop. Investigators say the person who was identified as Ronnie Dashawn Abram, Jr., stopped at a convenience store on Miller Road and ran from his vehicle while attempting to escape deputies. After a foot chase that included jumping a fence, Abram was detained by deputies. According to the sheriff’s office, investigators recovered marijuana, a scale, and multiple packages of drugs that Abram had in possession. After being placed under arrest, deputies served the additional warrants for manufacture and distribution of narcotics.
