A chorus of faces — drawn, photographed and painted — hint at worlds and emotions that entice the viewer to contemplate a scene, a moment, a reflection. An ornate mirror places you at the center of the mosaic.
The new exhibit at The Nicolaysen Art Museum, “Self-Reflection: Portraits from
the Collection,” features both classic and contemporary, local and master artists, and — if you see it in person — you.
Museum curator Amanda Yonker selected the portraits from the museum’s collection of 8,000 works, but left one frame that each patron can call their own.
The exhibit will be on display through May 2.
