A SEPTA bus needed to be towed off of I-76 early Wednesday after, officials said, it had its windshield shattered by a brick thrown by a pedestrian. According to SEPTA officials, the incident happened at about 4:30 a.m., when a pedestrian walking along eastbound I-76 threw a brick at SEPTA’s R oute 2 bus at some point between the Montgomery Drive exit and the Girard Avenue/Philadelphia Zoo exit. The impact from the brick shattered the passenger side windshield of the bus, SEPTA said. No passengers were on the bus at the time and the driver was unharmed, officials said. However, SEPTA officials did not immediately say if the individual who, they believe, threw the brick was apprehended or if they are being sought.
