The Lincoln City Council on Monday voted 6-1 in favor of increasing those fines.  Vehicles parked after the meter’s expiration time would increase from $10 to $15, while loading zone violations would go from $10 to $25. It drew concerns from Council member Brodey Weber, who voted against the increase because planned construction in downtown Lincoln, which is in his district.  The fine increases were part of a multipart parking ordinance that, among other things, would have allowed the city to create specific zones for ride-sharing services.
