The Bay Area will be home to another top 20 university. San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie said Tuesday that Vanderbilt University, a school based in Nashville, Tennessee, with a national reputation for research, will expand to the city. The university will take over California College of the Ar ts’ Design District campus, which recently has struggled to stay afloat. The expansion would be subject to regulatory approvals.
