Wreaths have been reportedly stolen from front doors around Santa Clara County. In some cases the suspected wreath thief was caught on camera. The most recent case was reported early Sunday morning in a Gilroy neighborhood. Some wreaths can cost more than $100, but some victims said the stolen wreaths have sentimental value. In the Gilroy incident, Ring camera video shows a man wearing a mask and jacket walking up to the door of a home early Sunday and grabbing a small wreath before leaving. “We thought at one point the person may not have been happy with us keeping our holiday decor up, but mine was not a Christmas wreath,” victim Carolyn Ballard said. A wreath thief also targeted several homes in Morgan Hill during the past several weeks. Morgan Hill police said they are investigating and one person has filed a formal police report. Officers said they are aware of other reports of stolen wreaths posted on social media, including in South San Jose.
