Former Rapids interim coach Chris Little joins Nashville SC staff

As the Colorado Rapids continue to shake up their coaching staff and roster, Music City came calling for their top assistant.
Chris Little announced on social media on Monday that he is moving to Tennessee to join Nashville SC as an assistant coach to B.J. Callaghan.

Little, who was well-liked and respected within the club and its roster, had served as top assistant to two Rapids head coaches since joining in 2021. He is primarily a midfield- and attack-focused coach.
Before the Rapids, he spent four years at various levels within the Seattle Sounders, including as the U-17 head coach and as head coach of the club’s MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, Tacoma Defiance. While with the academy system, he coached and developed current Rapids midfielder Josh Atencio, who reunited with Little ahead of the 2025 season.
After former Rapids coach Robin Fraser was fired amid a brutal 2023 season, Little was named interim and helped guide somewhat of a turnaround with what short amount of time he had at the helm. In eight matches as head coach, the Rapids went 2-4-2, grabbing just one fewer win in the final stretch than in 26 matches prior. His first game as interim was a 2-1 home win against the New England Revolution.
He got a taste of the lead job again in 2025 when he filled in for former coach Chris Armas. Armas, who was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in May, had his flight out of Texas delayed on the morning of a road match at D.C. United. Little took over in a pinch, but Colorado lost, 2-1.
