Colorado Springs police saw robberies, a DUI and a “prank” call gone wrong, among other incidents, with law enforcement making 316 arrests in El Paso County. From Jan. 4 to Jan. 10, the Colorado Springs Police Department posted nine blotter entries to its public database of incidents approved for release. Here is a recap of those entries: On Jan. 4, a juvenile made a threat directed at Russell Middle School, which police later learned was intended to be “a joke.” Police say the juvenile may face repercussions from both CSPD and the school, and urge parents to educate their children on the dangers of threatening a school, even if it is unserious. On Wednesday, police arrested Tyson Dunckel and Reanna Edsall after the two allegedly robbed a business in Fountain, then left the scene in a dark SUV. The Fountain Police Department asked CSPD for assistance in finding the pair, and police located the vehicle using a Flock License Plate Radar system and collaborating with several department tactical units. On Thursday, police were dispatched to a robbery in the 600 block of North Murray Boulevard, in which the suspect ran over a security guard with his car while fleeing the scene. James Jones, 32, was arrested with about $100 worth of stolen merchandise. The security guard is being treated at a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Also on Thursday, one man was arrested after rear ending a police cruiser after allegedly driving under the influence. Agustin Rivera was booked at the El Paso County jail, and the police vehicle was taken out of service due to the damage. More incidents at a glance: On Wednesday, police announced that a sexually violent predator, Nathan John Zaborski, was released into the community in southeast Colorado Springs. Police say to call 719-444-7672 with questions. Also on Wednesday, police arrested Yorvis Carrascal-Campo, who was wanted on a federal warrant on various racketeering charges, including murder in aid of racketeering. Several agencies aided in the arrest. On Thursday, police issued a citywide crash alert status from Thursday morning to Sunday afternoon. Police remind drivers that if drugs and alcohol are not involved, no medical attention is required and both drivers cooperate, reports can be submitted online as “cold” reports. On Saturday, a robbery was reported in the 5000 block of North Nevada Avenue after male and female suspects entered a business and left with an unknown amount of cash.
