Man, 34, knifed to death outside Bronx apartment building

A 34-year-old man was knifed to death following a violent clash outside a Bronx apartment building, police said.
Cops have apprehended the alleged stabber, who lived just paces from where the attack occurred. He’s currently facing murder, manslaughter and weapons possession charges.

r was on Bryant Ave. near E. 172nd St., about two blocks from Starlight Park in Crotona Park East, when he was attacked at around 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
He was stabbed repeatedly in the neck, chest and back, cops said.
EMS rushed Carpenter to St. Barnabas Hospital, but he couldn’t be saved.
His attacker, identified by police as 31-year-old Antonio Jackson, ran off but was quickly apprehended, officials said. His arraignment on murder and manslaughter charges were pending Saturday.
Carpenter lived in South Jamaica, Queens, about 15 miles from where he was killed.
It wasn’t immediately disclosed why he was in the area or what prompted the attack.
This is the first killing to take place this year in the 42nd Precinct, which covers Claremont, Crotona Park East and Crotona Park.
While murders plummeted by 20% last year. with 77 fewer victims than the 382 in 2024, the Bronx was responsible for more than one-third of homicides and shootings, cops said.
