At 6:46 a.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service released an updated special weather statement until 9 a.m. for Northern Westchester, Southern Westchester, Northwest Suffolk, Northeast Suffolk, Southwest Suffolk, Southeast Suffolk, Northern Nassau and Southern Nassau as well as Orange, Putnam an d Rockland counties.“Surface temperatures are around or just below freezing with high relative humidity. This can lead to patchy black ice during the morning commute.
