CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — One person is dead after a vehicle crash in Chesterfield County Thursday morning. At about 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department responded to the 5800 block of Route 1. Police said they determined that a tanker truc k was leaving a business when it crashed through a fence. The truck then crossed the roadway and hit a jersey wall, per police. The driver of the truck was a man, according to officials. He was unresponsive after the crash and transferred to a local hospital afterwards, where he was pronounced dead. Police said they believe the driver may have experienced a medical emergency at the time of the crash. His identity is pending notification of next of kin.
