SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A BART service disruption on the San Francisco Peninsula caused major delays for commuters early Thursday morning. BART service between Balboa Park and Daly City stations was halted due to an equipment problem, BART announced at 4:37 a.m., before regular service resumed more
than an hour later.
“Expect major delays in service on the San Francisco Line in all directions,” BART said in its initial advisory. “There is limited train service between SFO Airport, Millbrae, and Daly City.”
By 5:49 a.m., BART said that regular service had resumed between Daly City and 24th Street Mission stations. Transit officials said to expect major residual delays on the San Francisco line.
A bus bridge between Daly City and downtown San Francisco was provided by Muni during the service disruption.
