A pair of teen boys are being sought by police after, officials said, they fled from officers after, allegedly, being found behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle in the Feltonville section of North Philadelphia early Wednesday. In their escape, Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said , one of the boys evaded officers by fleeing into the woods while the other jumped into and swam across Tacony Creek to elude officers. According to Small, the incident happened at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning, when officers stopped a vehicle, that was believed to have been stolen, along the 5100 block of Bingham Street in the Feltonville neighborhood of North Philadelphia. At that time, two individuals — who police believed to be teen boys but their ages were not immediately known — fled from the vehicle and headed into the nearby Tacony Creek Park, Small said. Police officers, Small said, followed on foot as one of the boys escaped apprehension by fleeing into the woods in the park while the other avoided arrest by jumping into Tacony Creek and swimming to the other side. As of about 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, officials had not announced an arrest in this incident. Small did not immediately share any further identifying information on the individuals sought in this incident. But, he said, an investigation remains ongoing. This is a breaking news story. It will be updated as new information becomes available. ...read more read less
