Jan 5, 2026 morning forecast with Tara Hastings INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A warmer week on tap across much of Indiana. It will definitely not feel like January this week. Temperatures will be well above normal and could even get awfully close to 60 by the middle part of the week. Dry to start off the week but more rain and even thunderstorm chances will be possible by the end of the week. TODAY: We will see a partly cloudy sky through much of the afternoon today. It will be a bit breezy with winds out of the south and they could gust at times near 20 mph. High temperatures today will be close to 50 degrees which is well above our normal high of 36.  TONIGHT: Areas of fog are possible tonight. Temperatures will drop near 39 degrees under mostly cloudy conditions. TOMORROW: Fog will be possible early Tuesday morning along with some patches of light drizzle and mist. We could see some reduced visibility at times early in the morning on Tuesday. We will look for lots of cloud cover throughout much of the day with high temperatures climbing right around 53. 7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST:  Temperatures stay well above normal for the middle and latter half of the week. Look for dry conditions on Wednesday with some sunshine. High temperatures right around 54. We will climb close to 60 on Thursday. Look for more cloud cover and also the chance for some showers and thunderstorms across much of the state. Some of those thunderstorms could have some Gusty winds associated with them. Some morning showers possible on Friday temperatures will be near 57. Over the weekend it looks like temperatures will return much closer to normal for this time of the year. And we could see a chance for some rain, maybe even some snow showers on Saturday. ...read more read less
