LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Speakeasy Dispensary has announced the grand opening of its newest medical cannabis dispensary in Lexington, located at 1849 Alysheba Way in the Hamburg area. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14, welcoming local officials, industry p artners, and invited guests. The dispensary will officially open to registered medical cannabis patients the following day, Thursday, January 15, with doors opening at 10 a.m. The new location is housed in the former Frisch’s Big Boy building and has been designed to reflect Kentucky’s equestrian heritage. Patients will enter through a front lobby inspired by a traditional jockey club before moving into the main sales floor, designed as a speakeasy-style space focused on privacy, comfort, and one-on-one patient guidance. “Opening in Lexington is an important step for Kentucky’s medical cannabis program and for the patients it’s meant to serve,” said Casey Flippo, CEO of Gold Leaf Management. “Our focus is on giving patients a place where they can ask questions, understand their options, and feel comfortable walking through the process.” Flippo noted that early product availability and pricing will reflect the program’s early stages, but access and selection are expected to improve as Kentucky’s medical cannabis market continues to develop. Speakeasy says it plans to work with licensed cultivators and processors across the state to expand product offerings over time as additional operators come online.
