On Friday at 5:09 a.m. the National Weather Service released an updated winter weather advisory in effect until Saturday at 7 a.m. for Southern Herkimer."Total snow accumulations up to 3 inches to 5 inches within the heaviest lake effect bands," can be expected according to the weather service.
