Mild, warm weather for Colorado Springs into the weekend, while storm moves into mountain ranges
Jan 01, 2026
While the sun will take New Year’s Day off, temperatures will remain mild into the weekend in the Pikes Peak region.
Thursday will be mostly cloudy and mild on the plains, with a high of 62 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo. A few showers might pop up later this morni
ng or afternoon along and near I-25.
The mountains, however, will likely see snow today, as a strong storm moves into the state from the West Coast. Winter Weather Advisories will go into effect from 11 a.m. Thursday to 5 p.m. Friday for many Colorado mountain ranges. The high country will endure strong winds and a possible 6-12 inches of snow, making travel dicey.
Friday will bring fewer clouds, more sun and a high of 59 degrees to Colorado Springs. Saturday will be a bit cooler, with a high in the upper 50s, while Sunday will see a return of the clouds, a high of 67, and wind gusts up to 20 mph, meaning increased fire danger for dry Southern Colorado.
