Administrative offices and some city of San Diego facilities will see limited closures on New Year’s Eve, with most facilities closed on New Year’s Day. All city administrative offices will be closed Thursday.
Also on New Year’s Day, trash, recycl
ables and organic waste will not be collected, and the city’s landfill and recycling center will be closed, along with Your Safe Place – A Family Justice Center.
City libraries, pools, recreation centers and public buildings in Balboa Park will be closed both Wednesday and Thursday. City reservoirs and Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center will be closed Thursday.
Online services will still be available, including scheduling inspections, making payments or requesting Building and Land Use Enforcement investigations, a city statement read.
San Diego Police and Fire-Rescue services will operate on normal schedules.
Chollas Lake, Mission Trails Regional Park, Tecolote Canyon Natural Park, city skate parks and plazas and dog off-leash areas will remain open on the holiday. Mission Bay Golf Course will close at dusk on New Year’s Eve.
Some parking restrictions not enforced in the City of San Diego on New Year’s Day
According to the city, parking meters, street parking time restrictions, yellow zones and posted street sweeping routes within the city of San Diego will not be enforced on Thursday. All other parking violations will be enforced.
County animal shelters, family resource centers, health clinics, libraries and public offices will be closed Thursday, but law enforcement and emergency animal control services will continue operating.
County parks, campgrounds and neighborhood day-use parks will remain open, however, the following locations will be closed Thursday:
— Fallbrook Community Center;
— Lakeside Community Center;
— Spring Valley Community Center;
— Spring Valley Gymnasium;
— 4S Ranch Recreation Office only (all parks will be open);
— Valley Center Community Hall;
— Adams Park Pool; and
— Community Teen Centers.
