San Ramon vehicle pursuit ends in crash, officer hospitalized

(KRON) -- A pursuit of vehicle theft suspects in San Ramon late Monday resulted in multiple police cars being rammed and an officer hospitalized, according to the San Ramon Police Department. Two of four suspects were taken into custody.
San Ramon detectives were conducting a stakeout near Kyler Co
urt and Kyler Lane after receiving information that suspects wanted for multiple vehicle burglaries and stolen vehicles were likely to return to the area. The detectives were watching a previously stolen vehicle that had been abandoned, police said.
At around 11:11 p.m., four suspects arrived inside a black Volkswagen Jetta. Detectives initiated a vehicle stop, and the driver fled at a high rate of speed into multiple San Ramon PD vehicles. One officer suffered minor injuries, authorities said.

The vehicle pursuit came to an end after the Jetta’s driver lost control and slammed into a fire hydrant in front of an apartment complex on Ivy Hill Way. The four suspects then fled on foot through the apartment complex.
The suspected driver, identified as Anthony Parsons, 24, of Oakley, and one passenger, identified as Rafael Gonzalez, 20, of Antioch, were caught and arrested. The two remaining suspects were not located.
Parsons was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for:
Assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer
Resisting arrest
Resisting arrest by force or intimidation
Receiving stolen property
Vehicle theft
Criminal conspiracy
Possession of burglary tools
Felony reckless evading
Hit-and-run
Gonzalez was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for:
Vehicle theft
Receiving stolen property
Possession of burglary tools
Criminal conspiracy
Resisting arrest
The injured officer was hospitalized and later released.
