On Sunday, Dec. 28, at 5:51 p.m., a moose was reported in the road near Marsac Avenue and Ontario Avenue. The animal was apparently headed west, toward the heavily developed areas of Old Town. The person who contacted the police was worried a driver would hit the animal.
On Saturday, Dec. 27, at
10:47 p.m., someone on Crescent Road reported there were “loud kids running around” in an upstairs unit. The police logged the case as suspected disturbing the peace.
A vehicle that was apparently left in the area of Comstock Drive and Sidewinder Drive reportedly created a traffic hazard for snowplows at 4:30 p.m.
A hit-and-run traffic accident was reported in the Snow Park area at 4:30 p.m. Public police logs did not provide details about any damage.
A slide-off accident was reported on S.R. 224 south of Old Town at 1:56 p.m. The police were told the vehicle was in an emergency pull-off in the area of a runaway-truck ramp. The vehicle was “stuck and spinning wheels,” the police were told.
The Police Department at 12:32 p.m. received a complaint from someone on Norfolk Avenue, where a vehicle was reportedly left in the spot of the person who contacted the authorities.
An unspecified number of bricks were reportedly “coming up on the sidewalk” along Main Street at 9:35 a.m. The police were told the bricks were “tripping people,” according to public agency logs.
A hit-and-run traffic accident was reported on Meadows Drive at 9:08 a.m. Public police logs did not provide details.
The Police Department received two reports of traffic accidents on Meadows Drive in quick succession in the 8 a.m. hour. The police at 8:50 a.m. were told two vehicles “slid into” a yard, causing unspecified damage. One of the vehicles was at the scene at the time of the report to the police. At 8:34 a.m., a driver reportedly struck a mailbox in a rented vehicle. The person told the police they would leave a note for the person who lives at the address.
On Friday, Dec. 26, at 11:25 p.m., the police received information about a squatter who was reportedly in a Heber Avenue stairwell. The person who contacted the authorities wanted the squatter removed, according to public police logs.
A vehicle reportedly became “stuck” on Ontario Avenue at 9:48 p.m. and was blocking part of the road.
The police at 5:20 p.m. received information about a hit-and-run accident that occurred three days earlier in the area of Main Street and 9th Street. The police were told the vehicle suffered dents that were described as minor.
A wheel was reported to be in a travel lane in the area of the intersection of Kearns Boulevard and Park Avenue at 9:38 a.m. The police said the wheel created a traffic hazard.
On Thursday, Dec. 25, at 6:24 p.m., the police received information about a Main Street business sign that, the person who contacted the agency said, “is definitely going to fall off the building and definitely going to hurt somebody.” The police logged the case as a citizen assist rather than a suspected criminal matter.
A wire was reportedly on the sidewalk along Sidewinder Drive at 7:08 a.m. There were no flames, the police were told.
On Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 4:24 p.m., a stalled vehicle was reported in the area of the intersection of Deer Valley Drive and Bonanza Drive. The vehicle was re-started, the police said.
Elk were reported to be crossing the road in the area of Kearns Boulevard and Richardson Flat at 2:43 p.m. The police were told one animal had crossed and another 80 were approaching.
On Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 10:55 p.m., elk were reportedly in the road near Kearns Boulevard and Round Valley Drive. There were “lots of” animals, the police were told.
On Monday, Dec. 22, at 3:29 p.m., a vehicle was stopped on Main Street in a location where it impeded traffic. An officer informed the driver they were not able to stop at the location and the vehicle was moved, the police said.
A hit-and-run accident was reported on Sidewinder Drive at 9:28 a.m. The police were told the victim’s vehicle was “sideswiped.”
