Tonight, temperatures are expected to hold steady, only falling to the low to mid 20s with cloudy conditions. A few scattered light snow showers are possible for the northeastern portions of the state. Little to no accumulation is expected.
New Year’s Eve:
On Wednesday, clouds will increase throughout the day and snow is forecasted to develop by late afternoon into the evening. The best chance for accumulation will be along and northeast of Interstate 74, where most areas could see up to ½ inch, while counties from Delphi to Kokomo, Muncie and Winchester may experience around 1 inch of snow.
Snow is expected to taper off late Wednesday night, which may lead to minor travel impacts for those traveling on New Year’s Eve.
New Year’s Day:
Looking ahead to Thursday, colder air will settle in, bringing highs in the 20s for areas north of I-70 and low to mid 30s south of I-70. The start of the New Year will be notably chilly.
Following a cold end to the year, temperatures are set to rebound into the 30s on Friday and Saturday, with highs returning to the 40s by Monday.
