Recent reports that the U.S. Department of War is moving to contract a new generation of seaplanes for missions in the Indo-Pacific may strike some as bold or novel. For those of us at the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum, it is anything but new. For Hawaii, it is deeply familiar.
