(KRON) — A snowmobiler was seriously injured in an avalanche in the Sierra Nevada north of Yosemite National Park Saturday. Body found in Monterey Bay, sheriff’s office investigating link to suspected shark attack A group of seven snowmobilers caused a large avalanche as they were riding near La topie Lake in the Bridgeport Winter Recreation Area, according to the Mono County Sheriff Search and Rescue Team. One of the snowmobilers was fully buried in the avalanche. Witnesses dug the victim out of the snow. California Highway Patrol and medevac helicopters were called to the emergency.  The victim was flown to a Level 2 trauma center, in Reno, Nev. Their condition is not publicly known at this time.
