A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 9:01 a.m. for freezing rain until 6:15 p.m. for Yates, Seneca, Cayuga and Onondaga counties.“A brief period of freezing rain will be possible this afternoon as rain moves into the northern Finger Lakes region. Road temperature s in many areas are well below freezing. Watch out for patchy icy roads this afternoon if traveling.
