Ring in 2026 early at the Park City Library
Dec 26, 2025
The Park City Library staff is in the middle of the hustle and bustle to get things ready for an all-ages Noon Year’s Eve Party on Wednesday.
That’s right, N-O-O-N Year’s Eve, said Library Specialist Danielle Bean.
“We are trying to make it a family-friendly New Year’s celebration
and give those who may not want to do a midnight celebration a chance to have a party,” she said. “We know that some kids and even some adults can’t or don’t want to stay up late.”
The free event will start at 11 a.m. and run through 12:30 p.m., according to Bean.
“Kids will get to make their own party hats and noisemakers, and we’ll have another craft where they’ll get to make their own star wishing wand,” she said. “We’ll also do some coloring and other holiday-themed crafts and have a music-and-dance celebration.”
Those who want to make New Year’s Resolutions can do them while making the star wishing wands, Bean said.
“We’ll try to tie them into the wishing wands, where they can make a wish for the new year,” she said.
Bean’s own New Year’s Resolution is to write a book.
“I love to write, and I’m here at the library surrounded by books,” she said. “So that gives me a lot of motivation.”
After the crafts, Noon Year’s Party attendees will then gather for a countdown and a balloon drop at noon, Bean said.
“This all will take place on the first floor of the library,” she said. “You will walk in the front doors by Lucky One’s Coffee, and you will see the craft tables all set up. So everything will be convenient and easy to get to. And the balloons will be dropped off from the stairs.”
Wednesday’s party marks Bean’s second year of organizing the event.
“It ended up being really popular last year, which we were super excited about,” she said. “It was great looking at all the crafts and things we could do that were themed around New Years, and this year we wanted to up the ante and make sure all the supplies we have could support and facilitate more people.”

Bean also beefed up this year’s balloon drop.
“We wanted to make it more epic by adding more pizzazz,” she said. “The goal was to get everyone to feel that same feeling of anticipation they feel when the traditional clock strikes midnight — but feel it at noon, instead.”
While the party is intended for families with kids of all ages, the target participants are toddlers and up, Bean said.
“It’s for all those kids who have all that energy,” she said with a laugh.
Bean has special memories of her own New Year’s Eve parties.
“My family would always play bingo, and that’s a fun tradition we have,” she said. “We would also have a big fondue pot for the dinner where we’d cook meat and dip a lot of bread and cheese. And we’d have a chocolate fountain.”
While the Park City Library’s party won’t feature food, it will hopefully create memories for those who attend, Bean said.
“When you have fun traditions when you celebrate the New Year, it makes it special,” she said. “And that also gives you a lot of hope going into the new years.”
Registration is not required, Bean said.
“You can just show up and walk right in,” she said. “We hope a lot of families can make it. It will be epic.”
