(Courtesy of the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office)SAUNDERS COUNTY—(KFOR Dec. 24)—An 86-year-old man is accused of attempted first-degree murder, after he allegedly shot a 68-year-old man early Wednesday afternoon at a home south of Fremont. The Saunde rs County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release to KFOR the 911 center got a call about a shooting that happened a half-mile west of Highway 77 and County Road W, east of Cedar Bluffs, about a man shot and was taken to a Fremont hospital in a private vehicle. Investigators say the 68-year-old victim and his wife identified the suspect and said he was still at the home alone.  The victim was transported in stable condition to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Saunders County deputies arrived at the home and used drones to give verbal commands through a loudspeaker.  After several commands and aftersignificant amount of time, the suspect identified as 86-year-old David D. Jurging was taken into custody without incident. Jurging was transported to Saunders County Corrections where he was charged with attempted 1st degree murder, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, and tamper with physical evidence.
