Tender Foot Bluegrass lays down acoustic sound at Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort
Dec 25, 2025
Fans of live, local music can enjoy the high-energy, acoustic sounds of the Tender Foot Bluegrass Band, free of charge, at the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort on Friday.
The boutique resort was originally opened as a hunting lodge in 1919, offers live music by local bands five nights a week, Wednesd
ay-Sunday, said marketing manager Shelby Clarke.
“Folk, Americana and bluegrass are audience favorites, so those are the bands we usually have,” Clarke said.
The 46-room hotel caters mostly to a specialized clientele. Located at 2 El Paso Blvd., near a series of trails, the lodge offers a fleet of bikes for overnight guests, and each ground-level room has a bicycle rack for guests who bring their own bikes.
“We’re a bicycle resort, but it doesn’t mean you have to be a bicyclist to stay here,” Clarke said. “We do cater to a lot of cyclists and adventurers.”

Tender Foot Bluegrass has been a Buffalo Lodge staple for years.
Originally based in Manitou Springs, Tender Foot Bluegrass has been together for more than 20 years, playing in a variety of local venues, including the Manitou Center Art Walk, Donkey Derby Days in Cripple Creek, Bronc Days in Green Mountain Falls and the Black Rose Acoustic Society in Colorado Springs.
“They’re a wonderful band with a great sound,” she said. “They’re one of our favorites, and they bring a wonderful crowd to the lodge.”
Local residents, out-of-town visitors and overnight guests are all welcome to the show, Clarke said.
“There’s just something about the combination of a banjo, a mandolin and a guitar,” she said. “It’s a wonderful sound when it’s all put together.”
On Saturday, guests can enjoy the final day of the lodge’s Holiday Market, as well as “Songs and Stories with Santa.”
“It’s a great way to enjoy the last few days of the holiday season,” Clarke said.
