A fire at a PGE substation in Saratoga has left about 21,000 customers in the South Bay without power Wednesday morning, according to the utility. The fire occurred at about 8:25 a.m. and has since been contained, PGE officials said on social media shortly after 10 a.m. PGE said its “leaders are on-site supporting crews first responders” but did not share any other information about the fire. A separate PGE substation fire in San Francisco last weekend left nearly a third of the utility’s customers in the city without power at the peak of the outage Saturday, and some customers did not have power restored until early Tuesday. ...read more read less
