A person allegedly responsible for causing a three-vehicle crash on the northeast side of the city last week has died in the hospital, police said. The crash occurred at North Academy and Union boulevards just after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, according to a blotter entry from the Colorado Sprin gs Police Department. The driver who caused the crash was taken to a hospital, where they died days later. The El Paso County Coroner’s Office was notified Monday of the driver’s death. Neither speed nor alcohol is considered a factor in the crash, police said.
