A 78-year-old man was killed Tuesday night after being hit by a vehicle near Faireview Avenue in Meridian, according to police.The Ada County Coroners Office identified the victim as Richard Fletcher of Meridian; he was pronounc ed dead at the scene after lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful.The crash happened around 8:07 p.m. near the intersection of East Fairview Avenue and Northeast Fifth Street. The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, police said.The Meridian Police Department is investigating the crash.
