Kenneth F. Golden, M.D., 98
Dec 22, 2025
Kenneth F. Golden, M.D., a Central New York physician specializing in internal medicine and hematology, died comfortably of natural causes on Dec. 18, 2025, at his home in Boca Raton, FL, five days short of his 99th birthday.
A graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, CT, and Syracuse University Col
lege of Medicine (now known as SUNY Upstate Medical University), Dr. Golden was for many years not just a private-practice physician in Fayetteville, but also a clinical associate professor of medicine at Upstate Medical University with previous service as president of the medical staff at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital and as a board member of that hospital’s foundation. He was appointed by the governor of New York to be a member of the Board of Visitors of Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, and he was a longtime volunteer for the American Cancer Society, serving as president of its Onondaga County Unit and board member of its New York State division.
An enthusiastic community volunteer and philanthropist, Dr. Golden was an honorary life member of the Fayetteville Lions Club, and – with his wife Jeannine – a donor of land to both the village of Fayetteville (Golden Park) and the town of Manlius. He also served as a board member of the Temple Society of Concord in Syracuse.
Dr. Golden prided himself on being a hard worker, a reliable man of his word, a shrewd diagnostician of complex medical conditions, a perfectionist and an inveterate punster. He loved horseback riding and hiking with his friends, and he was an avid fan and long-time season ticket holder of Syracuse University football.
He passed away in the loving presence of his wife of 75 years, the former Jeannine Saul, and their daughter, Amy Golden (Stan Levine) of Voorhees, NJ. He is also survived by sons David Golden (Bertha) of San Antonio, TX, and Jeffrey Golden of Mill Valley, CA; grandsons Aaron Golden of Atlanta, GA, and Noah Golden of Pagosa Springs, CO; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund.
