RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from a special guest on Monday to talk about the upcoming Capital City Kwanzaa Festival happening this Saturday. 8News anchor Autumn Childress was joined by Janine Bell, founder and artistic director of Elegba Folklore Society, to discuss what people can ex pect. "It's based on traditional African harvest festivals, so that we can honor our ancestors, so that we can bring children into the space to be able to learn at their own level, so that we can -- at the festival -- celebrate what the holiday is, bringing the community together, enjoying good food, enjoying performances," Bell said. People can head to the Greater Richmond Convention Center, Exhibit Hall B at 5th and Marshall St. on Saturday, Dec. 27, from 1 to 7 p.m. to experience the Ujamaa market, a candle lighting ceremony and more.
