Shelterinplace order in NJ town amid death investigation, fire

A significant police presence remains in a New Jersey town roughly 12 hours after a shelter-in-place order was issued late Saturday.
Police in Kearny responded for a death investigation in the area of Kearny Avenue and Johnston Avenue. A shelter-in-place order was made for that area; officials d
id not provide further details explaining the order.
“All residents of Kearny Avenue between Johnston Ave and Woodland Ave are advised to shelter in place. All other residents are advised to remain out of this area as a serious police investigation is underway,” the police department wrote in a Facebook post around 9 p.m. Saturday.
A fire then broke out on the same block, forcing the evacuation of at least four homes, according to the Red Cross.
“The investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released as it becomes available,” a statement from the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office read the following morning.
