Another pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Friday for Johnson County Sheriff Adam King, who faces multiple charges, including accusations of sexual harassment. According to court documents, today’s hearing will focus on two charges: Abuse of office — sexual harassment Corrupt influence — retaliation against a witness Earlier this month, a judge dismissed a perjury indictment King previously faced. In a statement, King’s attorneys said the perjury indictment was illegally obtained, adding, “At this time, it can’t be said whether the indictment was a mistake, negligence, or simply not knowing state law.” King has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He has declined to speak with the media after previous hearings but has received visible community support from a group that has held rallies and prayer events for him and his wife.
