(KRON) -- A victim who was shot in Oakland nearly nine years ago succumbed to their injuries this week, police said. The Oakland Police Department initiated its investigation on the night of December 22, 2016, after receiving reports of a shooting in the 10400 block of Edes Avenue. Officers respond ing to the area found evidence of a shooting, but did not locate any victims. (KRON4) A shooting victim later arrived at an area hospital by private transportation, OPD said.
