(MOBRIDGE) The big clipper system blowing through the Midwest Wednesday night into today (December 18, 2025) has packed quite a punch. According to the National Weather Service, it hit Mobridge with 23 hundredths of an inch of rain overnight, snow, blowing show and dirt. A 71 mph peak wind gust was recorded at the Mobridge Airport at 5:26 am this morning. The wind was responsible for power outages in Campbell, Corson, Dewey, McPherson, Faulk and Ziebach counties. Rapid City has a peak wind gust of 101 mph, Mud Butte, Ridgeview and Sturgis 83, Roscoe 77, Bowdle 75, Oelrichs 72, Java and Mound City 70, Lowery 69 and Pierre 64. School was canceled in Bowdle, McIntosh, Timber Lake, Edmunds County and Selby today. Campbell County Courthouse was closed due to the power outage.
