SeaWorld fires up Penguin Cam for the holidays
Dec 17, 2025
SeaWorld San Diego Wednesday announced its Penguin Cam has returned for the holidays, allowing animal fans near and far to observe the more than 200 flightless birds at the park.
Viewers can watch five species of penguin — King, Adelie, Gentoo, Chinstrap and Macaroni — as they play, get routi
ne check-ups, and are fed and cleaned. Additionally, the park adds more than two tons of snow to the Penguin Encounter daily.
“Penguins and snow are an iconic part of the holiday season; bringing back the Penguin Cam is perfect for this time of year to allow everyone the joy of watching the penguins no matter where people are located,” said Eric Otjen, vice president of zoological operations. “Our mission at SeaWorld is to educate and inspire our guests to care about marine animals and our ocean. By sharing our penguin colony with the world, we can show how special these animals are, motivate people to learn more about them, and spread a little joy this holiday season.”
The Penguin Cam will stream live from the Penguin Encounter habitat in San Diego. You can go inside by clicking here.
