(Courtesy of City of Lincoln/LTU)LINCOLN–(KFOR Dec. 17)–The 2025 Lincoln on The Move annual report released Wednesday outlined progress made and future investments with Lin coln’s street system. The city completed three large street projects in 2025, with completion of a fourth expected late summer 2026. Lincoln on the Move is funding 10 street projects in its sixth year of the initiative. Once all projects in the first phase of the initiative are constructed, Lincoln on the Move will have completed 66 projects and 220 lane miles of improvements to existing streets and construction of new streets. Six additional projects are being designed and are scheduled to be completed in 2026, 2027, and 2028. Lincoln Transportation and Utilities director Liz Elliott said the Lincoln on the Move funded projects for the sixth year of the program include: -Northwest 12th Street between West Adams Street and West Highlands Boulevard (Completed) -Multiple streets in the Eastridge Neighborhood near “O” Street between Cotner Boulevard and 70th Street (Completed) -Pine Lake Road between 14th and 32nd streets (Completed) -South 40th Street from “A” to “O” streets (In Progress) -33rd Street and Fletcher Avenue between Superior and 27th streets (In Design) -48th Street from Normal to Cotner boulevards (In Design) -South 27th Street from Nebraska Parkway to South Street (In Design) -Vine Street between 66th and 70th streets (In Design) -“O” Street from Ninth Street to Centennial Mall (In Design) -70th Street from Pioneers Boulevard to Van Dorn Street (In Design) “Thanks to Lincoln voters who approved the continuation of the quarter-cent sales tax last spring, we’re ready to begin the second phase of Lincoln on the Move as we continue our commitment to safe, reliable, and high-quality streets throughout the next eight years of the program,” Elliott said.     ...read more read less
