BEAN BLOSSOM, Ind. (WISH) — Three people, including a juvenile, were charged for their roles in a shooting at a Dollar General store in Brown County. On Saturday afternoon, deputies with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a Dollar General store in Bean Blossom, Indiana, on a report of shots fired. That is an unincorporated community near Nashville, Indiana, in Brown County. An Indiana Department of Natural Resources conservation officer was nearby and arrived on scene quickly. The conservation officer found Kayden Barnard, of Anderson, and Corbyn Harris, of Brown County/Martinsville, both suffering from gunshot wounds. A third person found at the scene was detained and later treated for hypothermia, but was released. During the initial investigation, deputies learned that Barnard traveled to Brown County to sell a firearm to an individual. That individual has since been found to be Trey Boyd, of Brown County. During the course of the investigation, deputies learned that Boyd, Harris, and a juvenile suspect were allegedly involved in robbing Barnard of his firearm. During this robbery, Barnard was shot, and he subsequently returned fire, striking Harris. Both Harris and Barnard were transported to area hospitals, and then to Methodist Hospital for their injuries. On Monday, Brown County Prosecutor Ted Adams filed for a 72-hour extension with the Brown County Court to allow further investigation. Based on that investigation, decisions were made to charge Boyd and Harris with robbery. The juvenile suspect is facing charges in juvenile court, and those will remain sealed. *The mugshots for Harris and the juvenile suspect have not been provided* ...read more read less
