BART Blue Line service resumes after car on tracks removed

(KRON) -- Full service on BART's Blue Line has resumed following a wild crash Tuesday that saw a car launched onto the tracks between the Castro Valley and West Dublin/Pleasanton stations. The car, which fell off a tow truck onto the tracks, was removed about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, according to BART.

The crash disrupted BART service on the Blue Line and resulted in a complete shutdown of westbound lanes on I-580, east of Castro Valley Boulevard.
Single-track service resumed between Castro Valley and West Dublin/Pleasanton around 6:04 p.m. Tuesday. All lanes on I-580 were reopened as of 6:08 p.m.
According to BART, crews worked through the night to repair the damaged trackway with normal service being restored as of around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday.
